Routine Dental Check Up
At Comfy Dental Mandurah, we believe in preventive dentistry. This means that you should visit one of our highly experienced dentists twice a year for a dental check-up for early detection of cavities, gum diseases and even oral cancer. You may need more frequent visits, depending on your dental needs and lifestyle. That is, smokers, diabetics, or people with weak immune systems or people prone to gum disease or cavities should visit more than the average person. It is always best to consult one of our dentists to determine how many dental check-ups you require for the year, as it may differ from time to time due to lifestyle factors
Teeth restoration
There are 2 types of white fillings available: Composite Direct restoration and Porcelain Restoration
Composite restorations have a natural, tooth-like appearance and are used primarily on anterior teeth, although many patients now prefer to have composite fillings placed on posterior teeth. A major advantage of this type of restoration is that they match the tooth colour and are aesthetically pleasing Porcelain
Porcelain restoration: Unlike the composite filling, these are made of porcelain, not plastic and are stronger and last longer in the mouth. These fillings are usually placed in back teeth when aesthetics is of utmost concern to increase their strength and longevity they are fabricated in the laboratory and then bonded into position at the dentists.
At Comfy Dental Mandurah we will discuss with you which restoration will best suit your teeth. To replace any existing metal fillings you may have.
Tooth Grinding
Most people grind and clench their teeth from time to time. Stress and anxiety create the two leading causes of teeth grinding/clenching. The second is due to an incorrect bite or missing and crooked teeth. Occasional teeth grinding, also known as bruxism, does not usually cause harm, but when teeth grinding occurs on a regular basis the teeth, gum, muscles and gum can be damaged. The majority of grinding often occurs during sleep, and for this reason many people cannot recognize that they grind their teeth.
Symptoms such as a dull, constant headache, a sore jaw and sensitive teeth are an indicator of bruxism. Many times people learn that they grind their teeth by their loved one who hears them grinding at night. If you doubt that you may be grinding your teeth, We will examine your mouth and jaw for signs of tooth grinding/clenching, and recommend individualized treatment options to help you stop grinding and protect your teeth and joint from any further damage. Our most common method for treating tooth grinding and clenching is the fabrication of a grinding splint. This is a custom made mouthguard that commonly fits over your top teeth which is mainly worn when you sleep.
Tooth Extraction
Tooth extractions are necessary when a tooth is broken, damaged beyond repair, or very loose. The dentist will only remove the tooth from the socket if the tooth cannot be fixed with a filling or crown. There are two types of extractions – straightforward and surgical. Simple extractions are performed by loosening the tooth and removing it with forceps.
Alternatively, surgical extractions are carried out by cutting into the gum and removing the tooth. The patient should feel only pressure, but no pain during the treatment. Wisdom teeth extraction is available at comfy dental Mandurah our highly experienced dentists offers a very safe and comfortable removal for an impact wisdom teeth. We also provide the facility of doing this procedure under IV Sedation.
Dental Cleaning
We at Comfy Dental Mandurah believe in prevention dentistry because prevention is more efficient than treatment so it is important to have your teeth professionally cleaned by a dentist, as daily brushing cannot remove all hard deposits on your teeth. Even brushing and flossing your teeth twice a day will not remove plaque in hard to reach areas such as between your teeth and gums. As a result, cavities and gum disease may occur. The main reason for tooth loss over the age of 40 is due to gum disease. Preventive measures are best by booking a dental cleaning at least twice a year to ensure a bright and healthy smile!

Mouth Guards
A mouth guard helps absorb the shock experienced by a blow to the face, which might otherwise result in an injury to the mouth or jaw. At comfy dental Mandurah, we recommend and provide a variety of different mouth guards for all ages and types of type of sport being played. You can also choose any colour, combination of colour or design that you wish.
